tougher [emphasis on her] began as a kickstarter in 2018, and was funded in less than a week. the groundbreaker pant is designed for the hardworking woman, whether farmer, factory, or construction worker; no pandering pink bullshit, no skin-tight ass-grabbing cutesy cuts, just function, for $75, and by my count about a 7/10. fit description from the website:
the looser cut of the groundbreaker pants allows for all movements, and the slightly tighter mid-rise waistband prevents the gravitational pull of typical stretch denims. the crotch gusset, while allowing full squats, somehow introduces a highly unflattering front pucker. the thin cotton/poly fabric has been waterproofed, which is great for misty maine mornings and mud season, but it is thin enough to show panty lines. if i'm hitting things with a hammer, no one should know what kind of underwear im wearing. furthermore, the fabric has pilled at the inner thighs and knees after 3 wears.
pocket-wise, these pants are pretty ideal front and back, and the side pocket for tools/knives/pens, and per the website "even a pocket that fits a tampon". cool. and the requisite cargo pocket. but no hammer loop. inseam seems to be accurate, in that my 32" pants just graze the ground barefoot, and as noted, fit relatively comfortably into boots
